About

Mano — Portrait

Born in Kamakura, Kanagawa. Debuted as a henna artist in 2020, later expanding the traditional techniques of henna art into pottery and plaster art, creating a singular style of her own.

Using beautiful natural materials born of the earth — henna, quartz and more — each work carries her own prayer and wish for happiness, born from inspiration and a hope for the well-being of those who see and hold it.

Techniques

Plaster Art

Working with plaster made from minerals and sunflower resin, she pipes it over a layered base using techniques drawn from henna art to draw three-dimensional reliefs — at times painting patterns in henna paste and bringing its dyeing effect into the work. In every piece, she pursues the expression of truth.

Pottery

Hand-built vessels inscribed with the delicate patterns of henna art, imbued with prayer.
